Where did the idea of the pour over come from?

The pour-over method of brewing coffee originated in Japan and is popular throughout most of Asia. The pour over method had a resurgence in the US this decade and has become popular in cafes and coffee shops all over North America. In 2014 Coffee Blenders CEO, Masateru Higashida, introduced this single serve pour-over method to the U.S and it has gained traction ever since.

Is your coffee Organic?

What countries do you source your green coffee beans from?

Our beans are sourced from many of the finest coffee producing regions in the world. The Barista line has coffees sourced from Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Guatemala. For our functional coffees we proudly source our green coffee beans from Honduras.

Does your company roast your own coffee beans?

We do not roast our coffee beans at our warehouse location, but it is locally roasted.

What are the preparation steps for single serve pour overs?

  1. Tear open brew pouch along dotted line
  2. Place pouch on your cup
  3. Pour 1-2oz of hot water (we recommend around 200 degrees Fahrenheit)
  4. Allow coffee to "bloom" for 20 seconds
  5. Add 4-6oz of additional Hot Water (based on your strength preferences)

What is the ideal temperature of the water for pour overs?

For the best tasting results we recommend using water that is between 195 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit. If you don't have a thermometer or a smart kettle, you can boil the water and wait about 30 seconds before pouring over the ground in the pouch.

Do you recommend adding sweetener to your coffee?

Our coffee has a great bold taste as is, but a little sweetener would enhance the flavor depending if you prefer your coffee to be on the sweeter side.

How many cups of Lean Cup do I have to drink a day to see weight loss results?

In order to see results, it is recommended to drink 2 servings of Coffee Blenders Lean Cup each day.

What is the difference between green tea and matcha green tea?

Matcha is a form of green tea that is made up of the whole green tea leaf as opposed to only part of it. Since Matcha is made up of the whole green tea leaf, studies have proven it to have 10x more antioxidants compared to a cup of green tea.
